How Does GuttaFilta Gutter Guard Work?

GuttaFilta is a gutter protection product designed to help keep leaves and debris out of residential and other gutter systems. It can be installed as a DIY product or professionally where required.
GuttaFilta and GuttaFilta Valley are made from open-cell (reticulated) polyether polyurethane foam. The material is porous and pliable, can be cut to size for different applications and is designed to withstand physical stress and UV exposure.
GuttaFilta is formulated for Australian conditions, including both high and low temperatures. It also incorporates an anti-microbial additive and is designed to assist with mosquito control by helping prevent water from building up in the protected gutter area.
GuttaFilta is UV stable, fire retardant with a self-extinguishing rating of 10 (refer to the disclaimer), environmentally friendly and supplied with a 7-year warranty, subject to the warranty terms.

Prepare Your Gutters for Storm Season
Keeping gutters and downpipes clear is one part of preparing your home for storms and heavy rain.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AS A STORM APPROACHES?
Ensure mobile phones are fully charged or that there is access to a phone which does not require mains power to operate.
Keep a torch handy. Secure loose items. Place vehicles under cover. Secure all external doors and windows. Shelter and secure pets and animals. Tune your battery-operated radio for weather warnings and advice. Disconnect unneeded electrical appliances. Keep your emergency kit close by. Be aware of neighbours who may need assistance.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE STORM HAS PASSED?
For life threatening emergencies call Triple Zero (000). If you require emergency assistance with storm damage such as damage to roofs and fallen trees on buildings call the SES on 13 25 00. Stay clear of fallen power lines. Contact Energex for power updates on 13 62 62. Continue to listen to battery-operated radio for updates. Assess any damage to property and consider what you can do to secure and repair damage. Check the safety and wellbeing of neighbours.
BEFORE CALLING THE SES
Consider whether your property has sustained serious damage and whether it is an emergency requiring SES assistance. If you are renting your home, speak to your real estate agent to organise a tradesperson. If you are a home owner, consider how you could arrange to have the damage fixed.
WHEN DO I CALL THE SES?
Call the SES if you require additional assistance, including if your house or roof has sustained serious damage from falling trees, flying debris or wind, or if living spaces such as bedrooms, kitchen or lounge room are getting wet.
STOCK YOUR EMERGENCY KIT AHEAD OF TIME
A portable, battery-operated radio and torch with fresh or spare batteries and bulb, a list of radio stations for emergency information, a gas or battery-operated lantern, enough fresh water and tinned food for three days, and a first-aid kit are useful basics.
